I teach violin/fiddle, guitar/electric guitar, electric bass, ukulele, and mandolin.

I take on beginners to advanced...ages 8 and up.  I enjoy and teach many styles...Classical, Old Time, Jazz, Gypsy Jazz, Rock, Folk, Bluegrass, along with theory, technique, songwriting, and composing.

My teaching is centered around each individual and their specific goals and preferences.  I believe I can teach the basics of technique, theory, and musicianship within the context of any style.  And I like to follow the thread of each student's musical journey wherever it leads us.  Of course, I've got lots of ideas and tunes to draw from too!

I teach in person out of my pleasant and easy to get to home studio just minutes west of Carrboro/Chapel Hill, NC.  I also teach online via FaceTime or Google Meet.

I teach Monday through Thursdays, late morning through early evening.  Lessons can be 30, 45, or 60 minutes, or longer in special cases.  Most lessons are individual one-on-one, but sometimes small group lessons are possible too.

Feel free to get in touch, and let me know how I can help you further your musical journey.

All the best,
Gabriel

STUDIO GUIDELINES

Please attend your lesson without any fragrance (perfume, cologne, scented laundry, etc).  My teaching space is small and is used by many students throughout the day.  Many people are sensitive to such fragrances.

Washing your hands before coming to your lesson is both good for playing an instrument and for staying healthy.

Please take the day off if you are sick, and there is no charge for missed lessons due to illness.  Online lessons are also available in such a situation, or anytime you’re not able to make it here in person.

If you have to miss a lesson for any reason, and you can give me at least a week’s notice, there is no charge.

If you miss a lesson for any other reason other illness, without at least a week’s notice, you must pay for that lesson.

I will offer makeup lessons at my discretion.

When Chapel Hill Public Schools are not in session due to Holidays or inclement weather, lessons are usually cancelled.  Sometimes I offer lessons anyway, but with optional attendance.

If you decide to discontinue lessons, please give me at least 2 weeks notice, or pay me for 2 more weeks if you don't want to attend those last lessons.
